Background

Dry land is one type of lands in Indonesia that has wide spread up to 45.794.000 ha or about 25% of the total mainland of Indonesia (Subagyo et al. 2004). For that potential, it is advantageous if farming system on the dry land is undergone. However, besides lack of water, the dry land is generally poor of nutrients N, P, K, S and micro nutrients, yet rich in nutrients of Ca and Mg (Supardi, 1981).
